The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala will be the Chief Guest, Distributing Awards & commending about the outcome of the Global Business summit.
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries, Organizations and Civil Society – developed and developing – in a global partnership. To transform the World, They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
Kerala is truly blessed by Nature through its 44 rivers, golden beaches, emerald backwaters, lofty mountain ranges, variety of natural resources and above all highly developed human intelligence resources. It has been our endeavor to identify areas of sustainable development for our State and how development can go hand-in-hand with economical, social and environmental sustainability. Kerala or its society will not accept any development model which is not environment friendly or sustainable in nature. This creates a unique opportunity for Kerala to be a world model in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
This realization that protecting and preserving our nature must go hand in hand with economic growth, poverty alleviation and improving quality of life has encouraged World Malayalee Council through the Global Environment Council (GEC) & International Council for Business & commerce (ICBC) to initiate this twin program for encouraging environment protection by introducing the Global Environment Protection Project awards: Leading the change and organizing a Global Business Summit: Re-Imagining Kerala to discuss and arrive at a plan of action to encourage the Diaspora and other stake holders to engage with the Government to promote projects which will contribute to the economic, social and environmentally sustainable development of our state.
